Dr. Weimar Sebba
Presidente do 7º Congresso da World Hypertension League 2027
From May 13 to 15, 2027, Goiânia, Brazil, will become a global meeting point for excellence, innovation, and scientific exchange in hypertension. For the first time in its history, the World Hypertension Congress will be held in Latin America—a landmark occasion for Brazilian and Latin American cardiovascular medicine and a significant milestone for the international hypertension community.
It is both a profound honor and a privilege to serve as President of this Congress and, on this historic occasion, to represent the Brazilian and Latin American cardiovascular community within a truly global scientific endeavor. Together, we share a common commitment to addressing one of the foremost challenges in contemporary medicine: advancing the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and control of hypertension, while mitigating its far-reaching impact on cardiovascular, renal, and cerebrovascular health worldwide.
The International Scientific Committee has been working with great dedication to develop a program of the highest scientific caliber—comprehensive in scope, rigorous in content, and forward-looking in perspective. From the fundamental principles that underpin excellence in clinical practice to the most recent advances in pathophysiology, diagnosis, therapeutics, technology, and prevention, the Congress will provide a unique forum in which current knowledge is critically examined and emerging concepts capable of shaping the future of hypertension care are brought to the forefront.
Over the course of three days, Goiânia will welcome more than 50 distinguished international faculty members, including many of the world’s foremost authorities in hypertension, alongside eminent clinicians, researchers, and academics from Latin America and Brazil. This exceptional gathering will bring together different generations, disciplines, experiences, and perspectives, united by a shared purpose: to transform scientific knowledge into meaningful advances in clinical practice and better health for individuals and populations worldwide.
I extend my warmest invitation to physicians, researchers, academics, students, and healthcare professionals from Brazil, Latin America, and across the world to join us in Goiânia. We encourage you to bring your research, present your scientific contributions, exchange ideas with colleagues from around the globe, and take an active part in what promises to be a memorable chapter in the history of hypertension science in our region.
In May 2027, the global hypertension community will come together in Goiânia.
It will be an immense privilege to welcome you to Brazil as we share knowledge, foster collaboration, inspire new ideas, and build an exceptional Congress together. Above all, we will reaffirm the commitment that unites us: to advance science, improve cardiovascular health, and ultimately enhance the lives of our patients and populations around the world.

President, World Hypertension Congress 2027
